Disaster struck yesterday and the website was basically deleted. I am in the process of rebuilding it now, but it is going to take some time. Please be patient with me. The good news is that all of the photos and sponsor pages were on separate master pages and were saved.
To catch you up on the activities of the club, we have a multitude of events on the schedule. Our first priority is to support the high school football program structure, financially, and academically. Winning a state championship is the goal we put in place to accomplish all other goals. These goals include building a true feeder program to promote accomplished athletics into the high school program. We have began this by instituting a middle school football program, comprised of fifth grade through 8th grade players. We are members of the GMSAA program and play other high school feeder programs.
We invite the middle school players to participate in the weight room after school program. This has a two fold benefit. It allows the young player to see what is required to be competitive at a higher level and it gives him the opportunity to acquire that strength, building confidence that if he applies himself, he can attain anything he puts his mind to. It also increases academic performance in the classroom. The young man must perform academically to be qualified to play.
There is a misconception that football is a fall sport. In reality, it is a year around effort. We begin the new season the day after the old one ends. We begin the new year by planning our budget. We then formulate a plan to raise the funds to meet the budget forcast. This includes forcasting registrations fees and equipment fees. Then we make decisions about sponsorship fees and how to engage the community businesses and bring them into the Osborne family and retain them year over year. This website has been instrumental in getting sponsors, but to retain them we must make them feel that it has been a profitable experience for them. That is why we ask you to mention seeingthem on the website anytime you visit them or use their services.
We then plan the schedules of all of the other organizations that use the stadium facilities. Chattahoochie has claimed Osborne as their home field for the past two years and last year the won the National Championship for club football. We are proud to be affiliated with them. This relationship gives a financial boost to the program.
Last year we began a relationship with semipro football and will continue that this year, adding another financial avenue for meeting the budget goals. the Georgia "Canes" will play their home games here this year. They won the championship in their league last year.
This year, we plan on hosting a two day 7 on 7 tournament and a two day pound ball state championship event. These events give a much needed boost to our financial support to the high school program.
We are adding a middle school soccer program this year.
